What do I need to bring along?
  • Restricted/Full Drivers License only. Must present this on arrival.

Where does the experience leave from?

The buggy adventure departs from from a secret location near Kununurra. As we are on Traditionally owned Country, we like to keep the location a bit of a mystery to protect the area from the general public.

Full directions and details are provided when a booking is confirmed. We are located on beautiful Kimberley country … remote, refulgent, rugged and remarkably Australian! And we would love to share with you an adventure only a few people ever get to experience.

How far is Kununurra from Perth?

Kununurra is located in the North East part of the Kimberley in Western Australia. Travelling via car from Perth to Kununurra is 3,318km.

Planes depart Broome and Darwin daily bound for Kununurra.

Car hire is available from the Kununurra airpot.

What is the best way to get to Kununurra?

There are a few options when deciding on how to get to Kununurra. Driving from either Darwin or Perth is an option, depending on the time of year, please check WA road conditions.

Kununurra also has an airport where large planes arrive and depart daily from Darwin and Broome.

What food should I pack?

Our buggies are equipped with a 60lt Engel fridge each to keep your food cold. We also provide 9lts of cold drinking water in each fridge for your convenience. Pack food that can be cooked Campfire and BBQ style. Pack snacks that are light and refreshing, things like fruit, sandwiches or rolls are perfect. Nuts and seeds are ideal for snacking on during the trip. We provide a BBQ and camp oven cookout for 2 or more nights.

Alcohol is permitted and an afternoon sunset makes for a great avo session, bush style.

Is there mobile phone reception?

No, there’s not mobile reception. Phones are not permitted on any aKa trips.

Absolutely no GPS devices to be taken on any aKa Trips as we are taking people to Traditionally Owned land of ‘unknown places’ and want the area to be kept that way.

We invite you to our country, it is a privilege to see such a unique untouched location in Australia and ask you to please respect our culture and the land.

What safety equipment does aKa you carry?

We carry all safety equipment for remote offroad adventures including:

Who is best suited for these adventures?

The adventures are best suited to active people with a thirst for the outdoors, thrill and fun! We will be remote and the adventure requires a level of physical fitness. We cater our adventures to your abilities, if you have any concerns please contact us prior to booking.

Are the adventure experiences in a remote location?

Yes! The adventure experiences are located in one of the most remote and untouched locations of Australia.

aKa is a 50% Aboriginal owned business which has the blessings and permission of Traditional Owners for the country that aKa is able to show you. See a part of Australia only a few people ever get to experience.
